Pilates at Home: A 20-Minute Routine
You don't need a reformer or a studio membership to enjoy the benefits of Pilates. This routine needs only a mat and a little floor space. Short, focused sessions at home can be just as effective as a studio class when you move with control and intention.
Warm up (3 minutes)
Lie on your back, knees bent. Breathe deeply into your ribs, then perform slow pelvic tilts and gentle spinal rolls.
Core (6 minutes)
Hundred, single leg stretch, double leg stretch and criss-cross. Keep your lower back connected to the mat.
Lower body (6 minutes)
Side-lying leg lifts, clams and glute bridges. Move slowly and feel every muscle engage.
Back and posture (3 minutes)
Swan prep and swimming to strengthen the back of the body and open the chest.
Cool down (2 minutes)
Child's pose and a gentle spinal twist on each side.
Make it a habit
Three sessions a week is enough to feel a difference in your strength and posture within a month.
