Hot Yoga Outfit: How to Stay Comfortable in the Heat
Hot yoga takes place in rooms heated to around 35–40°C. The right outfit makes the difference between a focused practice and a sweaty distraction. What you wear in the heat matters more than in any other class.
Lightweight, breathable fabrics
Choose moisture-wicking materials that dry quickly. Avoid cotton, which absorbs sweat and becomes heavy.
Shorter lengths
Biker shorts or 7/8 leggings help you stay cooler while still offering coverage for twists and binds.
A secure crop
A light-support crop top keeps you cool and won't slip when you're upside down.
Bring the extras
A non-slip towel over your mat, plenty of water and a hair tie are essentials.
Rinse after class
Wash your activewear soon after practice to keep fabrics fresh.
FAQ
Should I wear long leggings to hot yoga?
Many people prefer shorts or cropped lengths for comfort, but lightweight, quick-dry full-length leggings work well if you like more coverage and grip for arm balances.
Dress light, hydrate well and enjoy the deep stretch that only a warm room can offer.
